Description

Language courses for groups can be arranged through your department or service and are offered in English, French, Dutch, and Spanish. We provide courses for all levels, with placement determined by an initial assessment.

Individual Language Courses
Description

We offer 10-hour individual language modules in the following languages: English, French, Dutch, German, and Spanish. Courses in other languages can be arranged upon request, subject to availability and justification.

Courses are available at all levels, with your proficiency level determined by a preliminary assessment.

Self-Learning and Improvement

Language Boost : English, French, Dutch 

Language BOOST is a flexible 6-week program tailored to your goals, needs, and schedule. You can design the program according to your preferences and opt to work with a ULB Languages coach if desired. The core principles of this program are flexibility, autonomy, support, and in-depth learning!

MOOC Fautomaton - French Spelling and Grammar

Offered by ULB, this course is designed for individuals aiming to refine their French skills, focusing on spelling, grammar, and vocabulary.
Eligibility: Participants should be fluent in French or have advanced proficiency (minimum C1 level).

Who Are These Foreign Language Courses For?

These general courses are available to all ULB staff members. The specific audience varies based on the course type, including administrative staff (PATGS), teaching staff, and researchers. Each course clearly identifies its target audience.

How Can I Fund My Foreign Language Training?

Most courses listed are free. For courses that require a fee, the HR Training and Skills Development Service may cover the costs depending on your role. Details about fee coverage are included in each course description.

Can I Choose to Enroll in a Foreign Language Course on My Own?

No, enrolling in professional training must be approved by your supervisor (for administrative staff) or your department head (for teaching or research staff), based on your professional needs and those of your department.

What If I Need a Course Not Listed in This Catalog?

If you require a foreign language course not listed in this catalog for your professional needs, please contact us by filling out this request form.

Can I Arrange a Custom Training for My Faculty or Department?

If you have a large group needing training, the HR Training and Skills Development Service can collaborate with you to create and organize a customized session for your faculty or department. Contact us to find out more.
