Integrated Tandems
What is an integrated tandem?
How to participate?
- Go to the Language Tandems platform and find a partner
- If possible, choose a partner with a similar language level
Activities
6 meetings of at least 2 hours:
- Half of the time in each language, spread over 1 semester
- Dates, times, and topics to be determined in consultation
An integrated tandem must include at least the following activities:
- A cultural activity (exhibition, museum, theater play, etc.)
- Attend a course of your tandem partner (course at ULB or VUB/UAntwerpen)
- Attend another course of your tandem partner (course at ULB or VUB/UAntwerpen)
Suggestions for other activities:
- Meet at the cafeteria to discuss a free topic
- Go to the cinema (preferably French- or Dutch-speaking film) and discuss it
- Go to a restaurant together
- Visit a city and explore its culture and customs
- Cook a typical regional dish together
- Practice a sport together
- Guided campus tour
- Attend a student party
- …
Validation of an integrated tandem
- Fill in and submit the activity report (VUB version) before the date provided by the course instructor
- Illustrate each activity with a selfie with your partner
- Attach another proof for each activity (ticket, etc.)
- Create a short "selfie" video with your partner giving your opinion on one of the 6 activities
- The final evaluation depends on the course you are taking. Check with your language coordinator
