THE ENTRANCE TEST

The entrance test to establish your level of French is compulsory for all students who wish to register for the courses in French as a foreign language which are provided by ULB Langues.  This test will allow our teachers to place you in groups according to your language level.

For summer courses, the testing session is held in August while for first semester courses the testing session is held in September. For second semester courses, the testing session is held in February.

The 30hrs courses are given 3hrs per week, during the first and second semester, and count for 3 credits under condition*.

Your level will be determined by a mandatory test on the Solbosch campus. This test will allow our teachers to place you in groups according to your language level.
 

The 60hrs courses are given during the first and second semesters (2h30/week) and count for 5 credits under condition*.

To join the course, students must attend an online mandatory test. This test will allow our teachers to place you in groups according to your language level.

All courses offered by ULB Langues are exclusively for ULB students.

During summertime, ULB Langues offers 60hrs classes for both regular and Erasmus students. To attend these classes, you must pass a level test that allows our teachers  to place you in groups according to your language level.

Are the courses online or in person?

Courses take place in person on the Solbosch Campus. 

Do I have to register for the level test? 

Registration for the placement test is no longer required. You will be able to access the level test directly on the dates notified above.

Is the test compulsory to access the French courses?

Yes. The entrance test will allow our teachers to place you in groups according to your language level.

What is the cost of the course?

Only the intermediate and advanced summer courses are charged (75€). The annual courses (all levels) are completely free.

Am I eligible for the French courses? 

The French courses offered by ULB Langues are only for ULB students.
